DHI Hair Transplant
Direct implantation of grafts with the Choi implanter pen, without opening channels.
Overview
In the DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) method, grafts are placed directly into the recipient area with the Choi implanter pen as soon as they are harvested. Because there is no channel-opening step, scalp damage is less, bleeding is minimal and recovery is faster. Angle and density can be controlled more precisely; it is preferred for the hairline and small areas. The procedure takes longer than FUE.
How does it work?
Planning
The hairline and density are designed.
Donor harvest
Follicular units are extracted.
Direct implantation
Grafts are placed directly into the recipient area with the Choi pen.
First wash
The first wash is performed at the clinic 1–2 days later.
Risks and safety
Similar to FUE; bleeding and swelling are less. Temporary redness and rarely graft failure. Smoking reduces the success rate.

Treatment FAQ
- DHI or FUE — which is right for me?
- FUE is faster and ideal for large areas; DHI uses the Choi implanter pen for channel-free direct implantation, with faster healing, and is preferred for delicate zones such as the hairline. We decide together which method suits you best after trichoscopy.
