FUE Hair Transplant
Follicular unit extraction: grafts harvested from the donor area and transplanted to the bald area.
Overview
In the FUE method, individual follicular units (grafts containing 1–4 hair follicles) are extracted from the donor area at the nape with specialised micro-punches and placed into channels opened in the bald or thinning area. The natural hairline design is personalised and the angle of hair growth is carefully determined. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, takes 4–8 hours, and the patient is discharged the same day. The implanted grafts shed within 2–3 weeks (shock loss), and new hair begins to grow from month 3–4.
How does it work?

Treatment FAQ
- When do transplanted hairs start to grow?
- New hair begins to grow in months 3–4, becomes visible by month 6 and the final result appears at 12 months. The first hairs may be fine and thicken over the following months.
- What is the recovery like after FUE?
- Crusting and mild swelling may occur in the first 7–10 days; by day 10 most crusts are cleared. The micro-wound in the donor area closes within 1–2 weeks and leaves no permanent scar.
