Hair Analysis (Trichoscopy)
High-resolution imaging of the scalp and hair follicles to assess density, shaft thickness and scalp condition.
Overview
Trichoscopy is the magnified examination of the scalp and hair follicles using a special dermatoscope. This allows the type of hair loss (androgenetic, diffuse, cicatricial, etc.) and its severity to be determined objectively. Trichoscopy involves no pain or procedure; it takes about 20–30 minutes and the results are shared during the same session. When needed, it is supported by blood tests to assess hormonal, iron or vitamin deficiencies.
