PRP Therapy
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) stimulates hair follicles and supports hair growth.
Overview
In PRP therapy, a small sample of your blood is taken, centrifuged to separate the platelet-rich plasma, and this plasma is injected into the scalp. The growth factors in platelets stimulate hair follicles, thicken the hair shaft and slow hair loss. It is effective for hair thinning, especially androgenetic alopecia. Typically 4–6 sessions are applied 2–3 weeks apart.
How does it work?
Blood draw
A small blood sample is taken from your arm.
Centrifuge
The platelet-rich plasma is separated.
Injection
Plasma is applied to the scalp with fine needles.
Aftercare
Washing is avoided for 24 hours after the session.
Risks and safety
Temporary tenderness, swelling or bruising may occur at the injection sites. PRP is prepared from your own blood, so there is no allergy risk.

Treatment FAQ
- Is PRP therapy painful?
- A topical anaesthetic cream is applied before PRP; because fine needles are used, most patients feel only mild tingling. Any temporary tenderness subsides within a few hours.
- How many PRP sessions do I need?
- Typically 4–6 sessions are applied 2–3 weeks apart; 1–2 annual maintenance sessions are recommended. The number of sessions is set according to trichoscopy findings and the severity of hair loss.
